Well I have just fitted the DCC chip. Getting the body off was OK, but the steps can only bend / break - what a pain!

I have no hope of fitting the sound - serious specialist soldering & work needed.

Runs well, minimal wobble but I'll have to get used to the super realistic acceleration & braking performance so not to crash!

That’s good that you have got it running and that it performs well.

Yes, driving DCC loco’s can be a bit hair-raising at times and you have to drive carefully but I suppose it makes it more realistic and fun in a way

For me 1/1 scale is a lot cheaper lol
Well I have made a loop and 66513 runs well.
I’m not sure if you can turn the taillights off when running with a train, as it would look better.

There’s probably a switch on the underside to turn the tail lights off

There are several switches inside to set it to a loco sub type and switches underneath. On DCC this is controlled by functions

Looks like a lovely model. I've mentioned elsewhere that I was going to go for a Hattons 66 for Christmas but changed my mind after hearing that they had some issues. I went for a 121 and 153 in the end, as well as a couple of other smaller engines - I'll share them in a bit on my thread. A friend of mine has a Hattons 66 with sound fitted and we both agree that it is absolutely excellent; I don't know what speaker he or Hattons has/have used but the sound had a lot of bass to it!
