Hey. I am a student in Uni. I received a letter from cross country for not paying full ticket for my journey. They ask for any mitigating measures i want to submit to them. So i send them with my rail card 16-25. The ticket i bought was for 16-17 by mistake. I bought a ticket for my friend she had that 16-17 rail card. Then i bought for myself, and forgot to change the rail card.
Cross country reply me with words ' we are willing to accept the evidence submit on this occasion. But they will keep my details in their record in case any further occurrence happens.. '
Then after a month of this letter i received SJPN. at the end of that plead guilty and no guilty pages. There is a settlement offer given to pay some fee and the ticket fare as well.. what should i do next ? I dont want any conviction on my record. If cross country sent me that letter then why I received this SJPN ? I am trying to reach cross country but they are also not answering.

Can you upload all the documentation you have received, with your personal details and any references redacted, so that you are not identified. We can then help further.

In addition to @Brissle Girl reply, make sure you include what Cross Country have said to you (my bold)

Welcome to the forum!

I'd be very surprised if CrossCountry simply closed a case where someone had applied a 16-17 railcard discount instead of 16-25. It sounds as though CrossCountry have given you a choice of paying them an out of court settlement or lettering the matter proceed to court. In order to be certain and to be able to offer the best advice we need to see copies of all the letters that you have been sent.

Can you upload them into this thread, but do redact any personal information and case reference numbers before doing so.
