hello All,
Newbe person here asking for some advice if possible please.
My grt x 2 grandfather was a James Clark possibly from Appin, Argyle, scotland about 1843-5. he married a Harriet Loveland in lambeth, surrey Holy Trinity. Prior to becoming a Brewersdrayman james worked on the Railways as a railway porter. I am so desparate to find any infomation about him, that can connect him to Appin. his witnesses on the marriage certificate are a George Davy and his wife Sophia. In 1861 George and sophia are living ain Havelock st, st mary , Islington. George and quite a few other men in this street work on the Railways doing various jobs. I need to find out who the railway company was who employed them plus james Clark. Is there anyway i can find this infomation and is there a way of finding infomation on james clark.
I recently purchased a book on railway ancestors but i cant work out how to find infomation.

many thanks if this isnt possible i will understand

yours Sue Ault
