Does anyone have times for the following....

Cauldon Lowe (UK Railtours) - When its due to pass Chesterfield

The Humber Explorer (Pathfinder) - Time of loco change at Sheffield (DBS 60 & 66)

The Cheshireman (Railway Touring Company) -Time due at Sheffield

I will be out and about on a wayfarer that day and hope to be able to catch some video/photos of these tours, as well as a trip to Barrow Hill (And a few good real ales along the way).

What I usually do is check the timing for the pick-up station nearest to me, then enter that station into National Rail Enquiries as your departing station. Then Put in the station where you want to see the railtour as your 'destination'. The site should give you an average time of the journey between the stations - so add that on to the timing given for the nearest pick-up station, and you have a rough timing for when you can see it come through your place. Hope that isn't confusing! :)

Yeah, I get you, but someone normally comes up with the actual times on here, that was my reason for asking, plus a couple of those tours are going all over the place. Thanks for the pointers though.

I have times for The Cheshireman http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t11/t0402a.htm

Not in Sheffield until 19.57, so may well miss out on that one.

The Humber Explorer is at Burton at 1005, so would expect it through Chesterfield some time after 11:00, which means I may miss that to, as will be up at Barrow Hill by then, unless I catch it at Derby and start my Wayfarer from there? Hmmmmmmm

Always be wary of the times published by the tour companies, particularly when the tour is more than a week away. These times are usually what the tour company have asked NR for, the final times can vary quite a lot.
In the case of steam tours, UKsteam can be relied on to have the accurate times but again you need to check a couple of days ahead of the tour just to be certain.

I have worked a few bits out, but if anyone else has any more definite information please let me know......

The Cheshireman, 44871 at Edale 19:21, Hathersage 19:30 and Sheffield 19:57.

The Humber Explorer (66 & 60)returns to Burton On Trent at 20:30 so I am guessing it will be through Sheffield between 18:30 and 19:00

Cauldon Lowe (Unsure but I have been told is top and tailed by 67s) is back at Stevenage at 21:19, so again I am guessing around 19:00 through Chesterfield off the Hope Valley Line, sadly avoiding Sheffield.

And one I have just picked up for tomorrow is the Northern Belle (Pair DRS 47s) which will be at Sheffield at 13:00 and 18:30 and Derby at 11:14 and 17:15.

As mentioned before I will be out and about on a Derbyshire Wayfarer tomorrow so if anyone can give me any confirmed times for the Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby area to catch any of these tours it will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, CSK.

Managed to get a video of the Northern Belle through Chesterfield, but was mostly drowned out by traffic. Also as walking down to the station a royal liveried 67 with a rake of blue and grey MK3s came through heading south. It was pulled up on the goods line as we left just in distant view from the station.

Currently in Sheffield and expect 3 railtours after 18:00 ish tonight, anyone with confirmed times please let me know.

CSK

The 67 was heading south unless it's picked coaches up from Barrow Hill and heading through Derby and up to Crewe and onto Carlisle? They are no longer sat outside Chesterfield but I'm on my way to Derby so may pick them up there.

Cheers
