.. If I was, say, to a purchase a RailCard for Spain, which I believe is £155 for tourista class, can this be used on the AVE?
Never gone further than Barca before on the rattler and hoping to go to Malaga soon. With the AVE taking just over five hours and the Arco around 13, it would seem rude not to.
I've had a look around but a lot of the sites relating this are a tad confusing. I did see one that said you can use a pass on said trains (AVE) with a ten euro supplement.
I need to sort it soon, as I have got a great deal on Prems, £60 return first class from Paris to Perpignan... sorted.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Be very careful in Spain as anything other than Regional and Cercanias (Suburban) is compulsory reservation, a list of charges can be found HERE . These can soon add up and you may be better off buying individual tickets for the journeys that you want to make unless you intend to do a lot of travelling.

Also, don't expect to turn up at the station and expect to get reservations for your trains of choice at short notice, when they are full that is it - no extra coaches no standing allowed and I don't think you can even get on the train without that all-important reservation. The best thing to do is to carefully plan your itinerary and the trains you want to go on and get the reservations when you get your pass - I would think that most, if not all of the people who sell Interrail can do this for you.
