Quick Vic line question

Just chatting to someone down the pub and he was saying that there is a vic relief line or something that goes near to where white hart lane is/under it..

Anyone confirm this is true?

Don't think so. I've got the Drivers Eye View DVD of the Victoria line and this isn't mentioned. What he may be thinknig of is the suggestions, raised as far back as 1982, for the Victoria branch to the depot to carry passenger trains, to a new station at Northumberland Park. Studies have showed traffic prospects are gloomy. Not only that, there are problems in building a station. The land next to the NR station is required by NR, whilst the line to the staff platform, on the other side of the depot complex, would need to be resignalled and a new station built, requiring movement of the depot fences.

The idea of a branch to Northumberland Park would be to alleviate crowd problems at Seven Sisters.

However, there is also an NR station at white Hart Lane. He could also be thinking of this.

I think he is thinking of the link between Northumberland Park depot and the Victoria Line which is very close to being underneath Tottenham Hale main line. On the Rail Atlas it's right at a page limit and does look a bit odd.

I really dont know which to be honest.. It was due to us talking about Spurs moving and he was rambling on about WHL being above or very close to the Vic line so if they did move they could build a station there or something..

Im not overly aufait with the history or where lines go to.. Mainly cos its dark down there
