Wigan's constituencies haven't changed so there's not much to really say. I did notice an odd lozenge covering the Ribble Valley, extending much further this time.

Yeah no changes in any of the 3 wholly Wigan ones which is a plus as at the last review they were proposing a joint Leigh-Salford seat. The Bolton one that has a bit of Wigan (Atherton) in is changing though, Bolton West is expanding by taking a quarter of Bolton Town Centre.

Then they didn't do a very good job of it then. Plenty of 'Leave' material in the post as well as posters, billboards and doorsteppers but I think we got the Government 'Remain' mail shot and a couple of other bits through post and that was it. Nothing else around here from Remain.

Neither I nor any of my neighbours ever received the Government mailshot. All we ever got was stuff from the Leave campaign, the last of which said 'most people in your street want to leave' or some such claptrap. How did they know this?!

The government one wasn't a mailshot it was an A5 booklet and it was sent out before the campaigning started so didn't officially count as something from the Remain camp.

I received one Leave mailshot and one Remain mailshot both addressed to me but other people living at the same address didn't receive a copy of the Remain one, so it seemed they picked one person off the voter's list at each address at random.

The Knutsford Guardian has a lengthy letter from George Osborne saying why he thinks Knutsford shouldn't be included in a parliamentary constituency with Altrincham. A lot of the 'issues' he raises are nonsense. For instance he mentions how successful Knutsford Academy has been in recent years but ignores the fact a lot of their pupils come from Trafford! He also says all Altrincham's transport links point towards Manchester - obviously he's unaware of public transport services to places like Warrington, Northwich, Knutsford, Chester and Wilmslow and also how many people commute from 'South Manchester' to Knutsford every day. The bottom line is really George Osborne thinks Graham Brady will be selected as the Conservative candidate for Altrincham and Tatton and he wants a Cheshire East constituency including Knutsford which he can be the candidate for.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England

Is the matter that pupils from one shall we say "county area" are crossing the border into another "county" area something that is to the detriment of place allocations in the area where the educational establishment is situated?

Trafford, with Altrincham and the Hale areas in particular, have excellent schools where I can well imagine pupils from our own area of Cheshire East would wish to study at. All my sons attended St Ambrose College in Hale Barns and received a first class education there that prepared them for university, from which all of them went on to obtain their Masters degree in their core subject.

I think he's scared he won't be selected as the Conservative candidate for what will probably finish up as a Conservative safe seat so is trying to think of any excuse which he can to get the boundary review people to do a rethink, rather than come up with valid reasons why Knutsford and Altrincham shouldn't be in the same consistency.
