On the recently-updated National Rail page for contactless caps beyond Zones 1-9 I've noticed Sevenoaks / Luton have oddly specific touch-in times (0902 / 0913) for off-peak capping easements.

The first eligible London-bound departure at Sevenoaks is the 0912, whereas at Luton the 0913 departure (on which the recently adjusted Off-Peak Day Travelcard is now valid) is only available if the usual grace period (3 minutes?) applies.

Sevenoaks has been 0902 since February. It's aim is to exclude the 0900 departure. Oddly the 0920 stopper is available from Sevenoaks for off-peak capping, but not from Dunton Green. Knockholt at 0928 is tight, and Chelsfield at 0931 is ok as long as you don't touch in too early.

Yes, the grace period at the end of the peak is 3 minutes. I'm not sure if it applies to easements, I probably ought to find out.
