Problems using Safari on iPhone

Just a quick question as I’m a total twit re IT.

Anyone having problems using the Safari search engine on their iPhone? Just won’t load anything.

Had a problem most of the day & normally don’t have issues, my internet provider is BT who tell me no problems in my area & my internet is secure, with that said it wasn’t great last week.

Down detector etc show no issues.

If I take off Wifi & search on Safari via 4G same problem, Google search engine seems fine.

Yes configured so if doesn’t resolve I’ll download Google as I’m currently using that.

Safari overall not had too many problems, assume Safari the problem & not BT as as bad on 4G

Just to be clear, Safari doesn’t have its own search engine, it uses the one you tell it to use, which may be Google but doesn’t have to be.

I use Ecosia as my Safari browser search engine - it’s quick and fast and a dream on both iPad and iPhone.

Told you re my IT expertise, there’s me thinking Safari is a search engine

Gone into settings & notice my search engine is set to Yahoo which as you say I can change.

All becomes clear, don’t get old

Hmm, goes away and finds it’s got a few options. Something else about the iPhone and iPad I’d never looked at in over 10 years…
