How many of theese made it to Preservation adn Which Hertiage Railways have then and how offten are they used please.

By coincidence, there were two Class 31s in Preston station today.
31459 ''Cerberus'', and 31285, topped-and-tailed on four, yellow track-inspection saloons.
459 was in it's old green-livery...285 in the same yellow as the inspection saloons,
and it was logo'd ''Network Rail''.
It had come down the West Coast Mainline from Oxenholme, and was going-on to Wigan.

I know that there are 1 or 2 at NVR and a couple at the battlefield line (they really thrash them there), there will be a few others scattered around the country

Unless 459 received a rapid strip and repaint last night, it is still in full black livery with yellow ends and black windows, see:

A ride on a class 31 over 40 mph is like riding on a loco with square wheels, you bounce up and down and could get sea sick.
Drinking tea on one of these is a skill in its self, cos half onit will end over your shirt.
