Prague KT8D5 Tram Query

Back in 2017, I apparently had a ride on tram 9041. I've since discovered that this particular vehicle was renumbered 9091 four years earlier. I'm wondering how I could have got this wrong. I'm guessing maybe the old number was still on display inside? Any ideas other than 'you need an eye test'?

Writing's pretty clear, but could well just be that the shape of the numbers is similar and I was misremembering. It was a family trip with a lot going on and I was not very familiar with the area or the system at that time. I'll just go with 9041. Can't see it would be anything else. Cheers.

I suppose it’s possible that the (gold) number inside the tram had not been updated. It’s the one most likely to go unnoticed by “maintenance”, I should imagine.

I was riding close to the end vestibule of one for a few minutes in January, and I remember thinking at the time that something struck me as being out of date. Whether this was an old fleet number or simply a dated notice I cannot now recall, I will have to look more closely in future .
