Looks like the Down Fast has just reopened.

I also didn't understand why this was happening.
I was on the 1557 ex Moorgate, so 1612 at Finsbury Park .... we were non-stop via the down slow to New Southgate, alongside a Thameslink (1612 ex FPK?) on the down fast, although running slowly.

I guess this was in the nature of a test run??

It's probably less confusing for passengers for all MOG starters to non-stop to Alexandra Palace (AAP) ... despite three announcements from the driver, there was still one (with headphones) who got up for Harringay, and got quite irate when the train didn't stop!!!

Early shut down tonight to do more repair works, with extra buses being ordered.

It seems to be every other day now, is it getting worse or just over reported than in the past?

Very poor form from GTR and Network Rail to announce this at such short notice. The official advice is to check journey planners for where RRBs are going from, but as far as I can see they haven't been uploaded onto Darwin so planners aren't showing them!

How much notice did you want them to give?
“We realise that we’ve had several severe power outages impacting services over the last few weeks but to give you plenty of time to plan we’re not actually going to begin to rectify any remaining issues for the next six weeks. Please plan ahead accordingly.”

There were buses from King's Cross and Finsbury Park, plus a 1T service getting additional calls to fill in for one cancelled train.

There already was engineering work planned with buses from WGC, and I think the inners still ran bar the last service of the night.

Where did I suggest they give 6 weeks notice? As you say the issue was known about for days - are you seriously suggesting the rectification plan just materialised out of thin air at 20:50 on a Saturday evening 2 hours before work was planned to start, as a surprise to everyone?

Anyways, we now know that the block was pushed back to 00:30. Of course GTR did not advertise this whatsoever.

The emergency repair work for the OHLE was not related to the engineering work taking place Saturday night as has been happening for some time.

The power issues were on Friday and repair work overnight didn't get finished, so more work was attempted Saturday afternoon and presumably at this point it was decided to end the service early and put on extra buses to bridge the gap between London and WGC, which already had buses to stand in for trains being terminated short.
