My wife is a big fan of The Sound of Music, and has fancied travelling to Salzburg to experience where it was made, etc.
She hasn't flown before (she will have by the time we do this trip - possibly in late 2015) - so we are looking at making the journey by train.
I've looked at the superb Seat61 website which gives various options for travelling. I was wondering if anyone has first-hand experience of doing this journey, and any potential pitfalls of the journey.
I've never done an international journey before on trains (apart from Bruges to Ostend, which is a short 15 minute trip) - so any additional advice relating to this would be much appreciated.
