Poppy bus/DLR

Now I know the DLR have done their regular Poppies on the front of each vehicle again - always looks good but this morning I noticed a Stagecoach bus in pure white with masses of poppies over it. It looked nice


Is this happenning to other Stagecoach buses in the UK then or just London? And is it only the one that they are doing?

Metroline buses in Potters Bar all have a large poppy on the front this week.
As I reported in the rolling stock section, FCC have named 321418 "The Poppy Express" with Poppy Vinyls.

Stagecoach supertram does, but not buses in Yorkshire or Nottinghamshire as far as I know. Naturally Wellglade trams and TB buses do.

National Express WM & Coventry have a small sticker in the windows of buses.

I have seen one in a Diamond bus as well on the X30 Coventry Rail Station - Ansty Park.

It isn't just Stagecoach in London that are doing it, one of the Metroline Holloway E400s was decked out like that too. Go North East usually have a few vinyled out too.

There's 10 London buses with Poppy vinyls.

There is also one NCT one in Nottingham, with TB buses having a large poppy on the front

The Parks Plymouth NatEx coaches are carrying poppy vinyls on the front corners

Ahh cheers for hte info, seems very few given the amount of buses in London but its still nice.

Today I saw another Stagecoach one all plain red with a remembrance about 7/7 on the side of it.

That's "Spirit of London", a prototype E400 built to replace the bus that was destroyed on 7/7. I thought it had been scrapped after an arson attack last year, but it turns out Stagecoach have rebuilt it.

They did say at the time, it would be repaired at all costs due to the significance the bus holds.

No, unfortunately that's what TB think they are. In reality, they are really quite good, better than most others, but are still unable to run enough buses, of the correct type, and tend to still be full of too much hype. Just a little more attention to detail and they could be significantly better.
