Southern are reporting on Twitter and their website that they'll be no trains between Barnham and Bognor till Sunday morning (16th) due to a points failure.

Does anyone know which set of points it is, or why its going to take a couple of days to fix?

Points out of the siding at Bognor. The leaf needs welding means nothing can get out of the platforms. Will be fixed tonight possibly.

Given the derisory bus links between Barnham and Bognor Regis that’s not going to go down well with the travelling public!

Fair enough, but would a similar fault on a busy mainline be fixed a lot sooner ?

Cheers. Is the reason for it having to be done overnight because the electrical isolation would affect Barnham too?
