Most Plusbus add-ons can be bought for £1.50 in June and July from selected websites:

http://www.plusbus.info/sites/default/files/pdfs/PLUSBUS £1.50 June & July Online Offer text.pdf

This looks similar to the offer from last year, except the fare last year was £1. Like last year, certain towns are excluded from the offer: Didcot, Isle of Man, Lewes, Leyland, Macclesfield and Maidenhead.

Oddly, the excluded towns were different last year: Blackpool, Maidenhead, Newbury, Newport (South Wales), Reading & Swindon.

You may find that you can save money on a comparable day ticket bought on a bus, even if you don't use the train ticket.

For example, Garswood to Wigan Anytime Single is £2.30, so including Plusbus is £3.80. This undercuts the System One Bus Daysaver (similarly valid on all buses in Greater Manchester) which is £5.40 before 0930 Monday to Friday and £4.80 at other times. It even undercuts a FirstDay for Greater Manchester which is £4.20.

I think it would be good if we could compile a list of such examples.

re. the exclusions from the scheme.

I've no idea about the Isle of Man scheme at all, but of the others mentioned Didcot, Lewes, Leyland and Macclesfield are only just being brought into the PlusBus scheme this month. (Mind you, so are Morecambe and various South Yorks places)

Bit annoying that the discounts are not available from all the TOC websites - I suspect this will be poorly advertised, too!

Seem's that PlusBus have a deal with TheTrainLine, the offer only available through the TOCs that use their booking agency. This was the same as last year IIRC.

Very good offer none the less.
