Hello

I will be travelling Manchester to Swansea rtn and have been looking at route map BD along with map HW. I intended to go out via the Heart of Wales line (LLD) and come back via the Marches line (LUD).

I wondered if this is permitted, and are there any other permitted routes I've missed ?

I anticipate breaking the rtn leg at LUD for a meal which, I think, is ok as it's on the return leg.

Your views appreciated.

Thanks

The routes will be OK. I don;t know of any Manchester - Swansea tickets that don;t permit break of journey on the return except for Advance ones!

If you are doing the whole trip in one day then a Heart of Wales Circular Ranger might be worth investigating.

I'll do it over 2 days, as I live in W. Yorks., with an overnight stop in South Wales, so I can't use the Heart of Wales Circular Day Ranger.

I was wondering what my options were, and I was interested to see all the Permitted Routes. Thanks.

I have been looking at the ATW Club 55 offer (+ Snr rail card), as I think I can then get the trip down to £13, plus the cost of Yorkshire to MAN, £8.90 off peak rtn with various cards.

If I do the ATW Club 55 deal from MAN I will be limited to the Arriva Wales network, but perhaps I'll stick with it as it's a v. good deal.

I assume the Club 55, (the rtn has to be within one month or 9th April) allows you a break on the rtn trip.

AIUI, Club 55 are not restricted on break of journey. There is no mention of a BoJ not being premitted in the T&C's on the ATW website.

Checked the T&Cs too, and couldn't find any restriction. I also did a search in the forums on RailUK "Fares, Tickets and Routeing" and there was some chat last year - I think there is no restriction.

Perhaps "Red Dragon" should stay in the "Dragon Hotel", Swansea - handy for the station but Dim Smocio !
