Peak Rail Re-Opening?

Peak rail understandably suspended its service due to Covid. However, the website has not been updated to reflect a potential re-opening. Does anyone know when/if a re-opening is planned?

Many other heritage railways are reopening now and I’ve been wanting to do this line and hopefully travel behind a peak for some time.

There's an interesting piece regarding Peak Rail on Pete Briddon's latest "Weekend Rails" blog entitled 'Of pounds (shillings) and pence' at https://www.weekendrails.co.uk/blog/of-pounds-shillings-and-pence.html . To quote one paragraph:

You may be wondering why I used that quote back at the beginning, but it will now become clearer as I return to the events that have occurred on Peak Rail this week. Regular watchers of the Companies House website spotted early in the week that a 'Fixed and Floating Charge' had been registered on Friday 28th (though not visible until Tuesday). Basically this infers that the Waterman Heritage Railway Trust is lending Peak Rail plc money, and to protect its interests, has a charge over all PR's assets should the company default. More knowledgeable people than I have looked at it and report that it is a fairly standard document (indeed it appears to be software generated as in a couple of places it says 'Error! Schedule not found') save that it grants the Trust the power to appoint a receiver and operate the railway.

Whether this is any way connected with the lack of any re-opening (or update on the situation on its website/facebook page), I am unsure.

It's a shame with the uncertainly especially as people are trying to do things again now, but understandable.

The Peak Rail website now says that they hope to reopen Spring 2021. In my experience the line is understaffed and under resourced and in recent years has run much less frequently then it once did (and has probably lost traffic to Ecclesbourne). But good luck to them and hopefully they can one day extend further north and get to (or near) somewhere as a destination (e.g.Chatsworth).

Pete Briddon's comments would make me very wary as a supplier to Pete Rail...If Waterman has a charge on some assets of the company then that is a sign of either lack of income or bad financial controls.Will 2021 be their year of reckoning.?

It's probably worth mentioning in this context that Mr. Briddon runs an organisation whose stated aim is to remove and replace the entire board of Peak Rail.
