I'm not sure if this is the best place to post but please note and share the following.

Last week after Park Jct Signalbox closed ( Newport Area S Wales) had its nameplate stolen. If you are offered it or know of its whereabouts please contact Network Rail or British Transport Police. BTP are aware of the theft.

All too typical in 'some' rail orientated circles sadly. Back in the ice age I photographed a SR style concrete station nameboard, that had survived closure of its station for decades. Showed my image to only a couple of (trusted, as I thought?) individuals, long before internet/social media days I will add, but on a subsequent visit not too long after, was met with two concrete posts, and remnants of the name board still attached to one post. Bloody obvious what had taken place, and suspect at some point in the future the said missing part, which was most of it including the full name, will mysteriously appear on a certain on line auction site - any such sale will be 'called out' if ever I see it appear as such.
