Paddle Steamer for Dart Valley Railway

The preserved P.S. Kingswear Castle currently based on the Medway is to move to the Dart to operate in conjunction with the DVR.

She was originally built for sailings on the Dart in the 1920s but after withdrawal in the 1960s was preserved by the PSPS and ended up on the Medway where she was looked after by a dedicated band of volunteers and operated cruises.

This move ensures her future and returns the vessel to her place of origin, the move has come as a complete surprise to many and she may well be moved from the Medway to Dartmouth as early as this week, weather permitting.

Is this an actual acquisition or just a move of base?

She is to be chartered long term (15 years I believe), however ownership will remain with the PSPS (Paddle Steamer Preservation Society).

Fair enough although I think it will turn out to be a permanent arrangement to the satisfaction of both parties.
