The Jouef 40s were OO but actually overwide; they did sell a HO German V200 as a Warship (825 Intrepid) while Roco have made a Dutch 08 which is often adopted to a UK one.

Yeah, a Jouef 40 popped up in my local model shop the other day and I thought it looked wrong.

I remember a friend of mine had one when I was a kid many moons ago - it looked impressive but back then I didn't know what the real thing looked like. Now I'm more familiar with them, the model looks somewhat strange and not quite right at all - the shapes of various things look wrong.
