A bit of news worth mentioning has been given by Tony today. I look forward to leaving sidings ECS and then having to change ends to continue the working

A Pendolino is in beta at present. There's another post on this forum about it.

There will be a new release of NWM in June. It has new diagrams for classes 31, 37/4, 37/9, 47, 66, HST, Voyager, Pendolino (and if it's ready, the 50). DMUs 153, 156, 158, 170 and EMUs 321, 323. This should cover most BVE4 traction.

The routes are totally revised with new objects, and new sidings at Whitminster and Brookfield. Some diagrams have a reversal procedure. This feature allows the Blackbrook branch to be driven in both directions. There are also some diagrams that now leave the carriage sidings as an ECS working, and then reverse to continue the diagram.

At present track layouts are still being updated and I expect this to take another two months.

Not that I like pendos much in real life, I cant wait for new traction for BVE4! Nor can I wait for NWM.

Other way around actually. BVE doesn't like Vista. It's a fault in the coding of BVE that only Mackoy can fix (or another programmer if he releases the source code)

No, to be accurate, it is Vista which doesn't like BVE. Vista doesn't like a bog standard DLL file which worked fine in Vista hence Vista is incompatible, rather than the other way around.

What do I have to do to become a BETA tester? Am already one for Microsoft (minor aplications only - I turned down Vista on principle), Lavasoft (Ad-Aware) and some other one that I've just forgotten

Be told you are in the 'testing team' by whoever is building it which is normally other authors

Most Betas are available to download on p2p anyway, so it's not a glory race for who is tester for what.

Anyway, what has home server got to offer? Or are you not allowed to disclose that?

It's basically a version of Win2k3 without Active Directory and for the home. Requires a machine with 1.8GHz min clock speed, 80GB min hard drive (it backs up contents on every machine to it's hard drive)... so theoretically if you have 300GB on each machine capacity, and 200GB is used by you, and you have 3 machines on the network, 600GB capacity is recommended.
