It's not just forums I can assure you. There's been a lot of it in the news recently, particularly companies that store credit card details - some very well known and others that don't tend to make the national press ;)

Why would anyone want to hack into my account here? I fail to see what benefit it would give. I don't store any personal information here that would compromise my personal finances. Being not of the computer nerdy type, is it a backdoor for gaining access to your computer?
If China wants to read my inane dribble about railway workings then more fool them!::lol:

But if it's true that China is wanting to invest billions in HS2 they might need somebody local to add credibility, and you could be just that person. I only went to the USSR once, in 1974, as a tourist with my employment described as Local Government Officer and I received some very interesting invitations during my four days in Moscow, as well as being followed every time I stepped out of the hotel.:lol:

They're not targeting your account. They don't care whose account they access, they just want to access as many accounts as they can.
Usually this is so they can post spam, often by PM so it's less likely to be noticed by admins.

It's all automated so they'll be making thousands of attempts per hour on all sorts of forums.

Me? Credible? :lol::lol::lol:
I better watch out for a strange looking man in a beige Mac and Trilby expecting an exact reply to a nonesense question! :D
