Just returned from a month in Loddon in Norfolk, where its streets are clogged with buses. It's on the route Norwich-Loddon-Beccles-Lowestoft. Last year there was a half-hourly service on X2 First during the day. Now there's a 20-minute service by them and also a half-hourly 146 Anglian service. Anglian have apparently been bought by the Go-Ahead group, which already operate the Konnectbus services in the Norwich area.
Something will have to give in soon. When I first started visiting the area about 20 years ago, there were about 10 buses a day on this route (171/2/X72) and it cost £3.50 single to Norwich. Today, there's all that frequency, a return cost me £4 on First, and a lot of buses are carrying a lot of fresh air (but also a lot of the passengers there are seem to be pensioners - that may explain something).
I just wish one of them would run past Norwich station and Carrow Road!
