Northfield - London Euston off-peak validity

I wish to travel from Northfield (NFD) to London Euston (EUS) via Birmingham New Street (BHM), tomorrow (Tuesday). I would like to take the 0744 NFD-BHM, then break my journey, before catching the 1617 BHM-EUS.

If I have an Any Permitted Off-Peak Single from NFD to London Terminals:

• Am I right in thinking I can take any NFD-BHM train? Looking at restriction code 2C, I can't see any restrictions that would apply to this leg of the journey.
• Am I likely to encounter any issues at the BHM gateline with this ticket during the morning peak?

Yes, your ticket is valid for break of journey as long as it complies with the 2C restriction.

I can’t answer for railway staff making up the rules.

Yes, this is fine. There is no restriction on trains between Northfield and Birmingham New Street.

It's impossible to say, the biggest issue will be someone trying to say that off peak tickets aren't valid at that time.
