There's been a lot of debate about whether the 185s are an improvement on the 158s, but they replaced the 175s on the Blackpool and Cumbria routes, 158s were never used for this route.

Have the 185s been a good replacement for this route and are the 175s suitable for long distance journeys to Cardiff/Milford Haven - or were they better on their previous duties to the Lakes/Cumbria?

Just interested in people's opinion - I was slightly surprised they were used for these routes as they were built as 'transpennine trains', but I think they're currently doing a good job, apart from the lack of spare seats on nearly every service around the Manchester area!
