Ìs that effectively the balancing route for the 10-car units, with the number of 5-car 377s not quite tying up to specific routes?

Huh, my source says is a mix of 8/10s through out. Maybe we’ll will see more 8s rather then 10s running on the network with the 10s being positioned in the right places for the peak periods.
But if I’m wrong I’m wrong ahah.

Shock horror, the website isn't correct. As an example on weekdays between 1600 and 1900 from Victoria only 2 services (1620 London Bridge and 1836 West Croydon) on those routes are 10 cars - hardly sounds like the busier times (but then that term could be seen as subjective). Its almost entirely 8-cars, with one 10-car circuit.

Personally from what my source say it’s a fixed at 8/10 all day but the 10 are diagrammed/positioned in the right places for the morning and evenings peaks.
Cannot see where they have the units to do 8 off peak and 10 peaks.
(Think I already said this in a past post).

Easier for SN to say what they’ve put in the website then going into all the technical stuff of positioning of the 10 cars for the peak.

While the two extra trains via Peckham Rye are very welcome and much needed in the peak - midweek mornings have been terrible since the 455s were withdrawn - there trains are only going from 5 cars to 6 not from 4 to 6 as the website claims so I’m not sure how accurate that 60% claim is? Also aren’t the three car units lower density (all around tables where as there are lots of airline seats in the newer 5 car units - sorry just a passenger and not up to speed with the sub-class designations) so would be curious how many additional seats there will actually be?

They may have slightly fewer seats per coach but they will also accommodate slightly more standing passengers.

377/6 has 300 seats
2x377/3 has 352 seats
