I'm not sure if this has been covered before.
Yesterday I was able to see the New Measurement train at my local station on my daily walk.
Now it was getting dark by this point and I could clearly see a strong blue light coming out the top of one of the MK3s, presumably for catenary checking.
Now, many models represent the coach as having a pantograph and many people say it does have a pantograph.
However, from photos and videos and from when I saw the train, it looks as if there was a place for a pantograph, however it was swapped out for a light-based testingsystem.
Does anybody know anything about this or anything to do with this?
Thank you
