New Ipod Nano

After getting my New Ipod Nano, making playlists etc, I was surprised to find out that the *shake* feature, makes other songs come on that aren't even in the playlist...

Is this just mine, or is it supposed to do that??

And it isn't part of the Genius Function either...

The shake function just shuffles randomly. So i'd imagine it is.

I thouht the shake was just to put it into shuffle mode. Like the normal shuffle mode, rather than shuffling songs in a specific album or playlist.

I'm no iPod user admittedly (Personally, I avoid Appleware like the plague! ) but if I'm reading/interpereting your words correctly, then I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if shaking an iPod caused random songs to start dropping in out of nowhere, and your playlists suddenly found themselves scrambled beyond all comprehension! hock::razz:

Again - Assuming that I'm interpereting the shake "feature" correctly (I can't find anything about it on the Apple site) - Then I would strongly advise against doing such things, personally. Assuming that your iPod is a hard-drive based one (As any iPod with more than 8Gb of storage most likely is) then shaking the device whilst the hard drive is operational is the best way to crash and/or seriously FUBAR it... ad:

Just another bit of proof - In my eyes at least - That Apple are trying to encourage people to break their own iPods as quickly as possible so that they go out and by new ones. As if the built-in obsolescence present in every Apple product wasn't bad enough... hock::mad:

The 4th generation nanos have flash drives.
