In Atherton, the V2 bus goes along the main street with many shops. I do like its large modern bus shelter.

Lots of towns have a rail station; only one in the North has a guided busway. Would the transport world be trecking to Leigh to hear presentations on how to re-open a station?

How many rail overbridges in Leigh were removed after the station was closed. My memory might serve me false, so I ask confirmation from anyone on here. Was blue engineering brick used in the supporting walls?

Once the initial clamour dies down it'll just be another Histon.
Even Fancy Smith left Leigh despite his love of the place.

That would mean Caernarfon having less of an identity than Newtown - perhaps not the most robust theory
Not wishing to sound like a lush but I've done a couple of pub crawls in Histon too - six pubs and a great curry house!!

Logically, alot of Walkden's catchment must be to the south/Ellenbrook direction - the north and town centre area is already very well served by the frequency of buses along the A6, so I can see how the busway has made a slight dent.
At one point it was proposed that a second busway could be built along the disused line from the East Lancs Road into Walkden itself, with funding obtained; but the proposal has since been reconfigured as a series infrastructure improvments along the A6 route.
