New ENCTS pass query

I've just got my first ENCTS pass. There is no start date on it but my 66th birthday is in June 2022.

Will it bounce were I to present it now or is this a flaw in the system?
What about operators who allow just a visual check and not a scan?

My understanding is that it is valid from the time it is issued

It all balances out. I’ve not used mine in the 10 months since it arrived. :D
