Network Warrington opts for thirteen brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 midibuses for its South Warrington bus routes. These new buses will be employed on services to destinations such as Altrincham, Lymm and Northwich.
Thirteen brand new integral Alexander Dennis Enviro200 saloons have been ordered by Network Warrington. These are the first new buses to be purchased since the arrival of a batch of six Hybrid Electric Optare Versa buses in 2013, which at the time of writing, are the company’s newest vehicles.
This investment is also the largest for the company in recent years, surpassing the order of twelve reasonably specified Wrightbus Eclipse Urban 2 bodied Volvo B7RLE saloons in mid-2009.
Following on from a trial period, where
a number of different vehicle types were trialled by Network Warrington, it was Alexander Dennis who the municipal operator turned to, placing an order for thirteen “full size” variants of their popular Enviro200 model.
Thanks to the Enviro200’s Euro VI-rated Cummins 6.7 litre diesel engine, these new buses will also continue Network Warrington’s mission to improve the air quality in the areas they serve. Notably, they will also be the first new buses in the company’s fleet to feature complimentary WiFi and USB charging points for passengers to enjoy while on the move.
Featuring an attractive blue and orange “The Cheshire Cat” livery, which was designed by Ray Stenning’s
Best Impressions. The new buses will operate on services between Warrington Bus Interchange and Stockton Heath, Lymm, Grappenhall, Appleton, Northwich and Altrincham.
It is unknown when these vehicles will enter traffic, although I understand that it will be soon. Once I know a confirmed date, this article will be updated.
