As far as I can see The Jolly Fisherman was always an unofficial name but as your photo shows often adopted by the railway. As you will be aware this was a summer only service to Skegness run in previous years by East Midland Railway and became popular for its use of HST’s. Various rail tours since then have used the name, but not as a regular service train.Is the Jolly Fisherman (0756 Derby-Skegness) still named? It was in the most recent HST days appearing on the departure screens at Derby and with announcements onboard too.
