Rumspringa whereby they don't have to adhere to the rules as much while they make up their minds about whether or not they want to commit to the community they've been brought up in.
I've seen a few documentaries about the Amish in the last few years, and while I'm baffled by their refusal to accept our so-called "modern ways", I was quite impressed that there is a certain amount of acceptance that their young people may occasionally "stray from the path".
