Cheaper Alternatives to CR2:
> Stratford remodelling - rebuild the LO platforms as two through platforms, and try and slot in a bay platform somewhere close to Platform 10 for the Star service. LO services can be extended to Chingford, to provide a useful Stratford - Walthamstow - Chingford route relieving pressure off the northern end of victoria line
> Improve services in West Anglia to make journeys into Liverpool St quicker - the reason why the VIC at nothern end is so full is because trains only seem to go slow or v rarely semi fast.
> Enfield/Cheshunt to Barking Riverside route opened up?
> Improvements to Piccadilly Line are much needed - trains need to be MORE frequent and MORE quicker, end of.
> Thameslink improvements once fully completed with Welwyn semi fasts going into london will mean increased capacity slightly on the picc and vic lines anyway
> Extend Thameslink/Great Northern services from Moorgate to Waterloo via the Waterloo and City Line roughly a similar sort of length of stock used? Not sure how possible this one is!!
To South London, I guess that Bakerloo Line extension could instead go towards Brixton/Crystal Palace rather than Lewisham? Northern line extension to Clapham will help in spade loads and then the whole splitting northern into the northern and southern lines
Something tells me most of this won't happen. I really can't see CR2 happening as it was looking a bit precarious after Brexit, now with the Virus on top I think its gone for good.
