Hi All,

I am currently using EastCoasts free wifi to post on the forums.

I am on my way north from Norwich to Edinburgh via Stowmarket & Sunderland.

We started of having problems back in January because the timetabled service was cancelled after we booked Advance tickets. So we traveled on the Norwich to London Mainline and alighted at Stowmarket (SMK). We had a 1/2 hr wait for the connecting service, fine. When the 170 arrived it was 6 minutes late already - and then we faced a failed 153 single car unit on the line ahead of us between SMK and Bury St Edmunds (BSE). Which we coupled (with detonators) to and provided power to. We were then taken to BSE where we were to told to alight immediately so they can go into the signalling yard to uncouple. When the train returned - we headed off as normal towards Peterborough. We didn't quite get there as the service was terminated At Ely to time it back in (45 minutes late). Luckily for us there was a EMT service about to depart platform 3 (we were on platform ONE! So it was a run through he subway to the 158 waiting. The guard on the service gave us times for connections towards the North. We were meant to be on the 0751 from PBO - we are now sitting on the 0826 arriving YRK at 0940!

We will then connect onto the 1014 service to Sunderland then the Metro to Newcastle (NCL). Where we will continue to Edinburgh (EDB).

I will next be online for the leg between NCL and EDB where I will post an update.

Hello Again,

We have just boarded the 12:57 (13:01 actual) GR Service from Newcastle and are non-stop to Edinburgh.

We have made up the Delay!!!

Whilst on Grand Central Trains from York to Sunderland our train had one declassified coach from !st Class to STD so I scrapped the STD Reservations and sat in this coach instead - unfortunately it had none of the first class perks :(
The power sockets were disconnected and the wireless internet wouldn't let me register.

Hay Ho, hour to go and I will be in Edinburgh!!!!

Day Two (16022010)

Well we have boarded the 1111 Highland Chieftain service from Haymarket and are storming to London Kings Cross! Calling at only Waverley (1130), Newcastle & York.

1510

Well we passed Peterborough at Speed about 15 mins ago.

I am gutted cause I missed the freight locos staying just north of the station (I was waiting for a tunnel which never appeared!)

Looks like it is going to chuck it down of rain pretty soon!

Due to Arrive at KGX at 1550!
