Multiple workings associated with the same service

On a normal weekday, there are three workings associated with the 1L12 0723 Carmarthen to Paddington. 3L12 0545 Maliphant Depot to Carmarthen, 5L12 Maliphant Depot to Swansea Station, and 1L12 itself. 1L12 from Carmarthen couples with 5L12 at Swansea.

On 27 December, with the train retimed due to the engineering works at Paddington, there are actually 4 services for L12, with 2L12 being the 0723 Carmarthen to Swansea and 1L12 the 0823 Swansea to Paddington, as well as the two ECS!

What about the Edinburgh sleeper? They have 5S96 Wembley to Euston, 0S26 for the loco, 1S26 to Carstairs, 1B26 the portion working to Edinburgh, then 5B26 empty to Polmadie, making five in total.

I've been trying to work out the moves for that on RTT, but I'm not familiar with that service. I can see it's a 3 way split at Edinburgh, then maybe separate ECS and loco moves at each terminus? Plus the moves in the London area.

probably not much that will exceed 5!

Atlantic Coast Express . It used to need SEVEN locos for the eastbound train, just at at Exeter Central.

Separate sections arriving from Ilfracombe, Padstow and Plymouth. Each of these had needed a banker up from St Davids. Fresh loco on to Salisbury. At least the first banker in could act as station pilot shunting it all together, avoiding another loco for that.
