I've just noticed this. Sandwich is lovely, if you stay to the east of the railway. I can't agree with you about Deal though. It seems to be one of those places that is surrounded by nice areas (Walmer, Kingsdown, Sandwich etc) but sticks out like the black sheep of crapness. I'm slightly biased mind, I lived in Walmer for years.
