Just returned from a long bash abroad, much of it in Germany. Didn't realise it at the time but I am sure that we saw Angela Merkel on a local train between Leipzig and Halle

We were travelling first class and were rather surprised to find the small upstairs section on one train mostly taken by a small smartly dressed group so we sat downstairs instead. Whilst watching a clip of Mrs Merkel on the TV news that night, realisation dawned that one of the group on the train that morning looked just like her!

A friend of mine who works for Virgin was surprised to see Mickey Thomas (ex Wrexham, Man Utd, Wales footballer) on his train from Colwyn Bay. Especially as he was wanting to buy a ticket with 'brand new' £20 notes

Round this way we used to see John Craven joining/leaving Chiltern services at Wendover, before he moved away.

Geoffrey Palmer, the actor, uses the train between Great Missenden and Marylebone.

Years ago (early 90s) I used to commute up from Aylesbury to Marylebone next to Bill Drummond, from The KLF, almost daily. He'd sit there opening his post, addressed to KLF Communications.
