Until last Friday's 'Capital's Scot' railtour...has that ever happened before? (Edinburgh aside!)

Has LSL ever...and did BR ever?

And they'd be hauled to Doncaster from Norwich by GBRf (and later Cotswold Rail) for overhauls at wabtec for the operator (One/NXEA/GA) and ROSCO (Porterbrook)

I recall a Virgin Crosscountry service bringing a West Coast mark 2 rake, complete with DVT, to Newcastle on at least one occasion circa 1999. DVT tucked behind the class 47.

Arsenal used to use the 'Pretendolino' rake a lot to get to away matches, frequently on the ECML.
