If they're capable then hire them. What happens if no black / minority individuals apply for the position? Does the club have to go to the High Street and pick a random black / Asian / Latino, etc, looking person in order to comply with the rules?

To top that off, how do you define the term "minority" anyway? Does being Irish put you in a minority? Am I a minority if I am half Jewish and half Christian? What if I am bisexual? I can go on forever.

Positive discrimination. Do we really want it?

It's like asking an atheist to be Archbishop of Canterbury. Nobody wants it, least of all the people involved.

Discrimination needs to end (I refuse to use the term "positive discrimination" because no discrimination is positive). Hiring minorities (largely defined as none of the following: white, English, Christian in England) is discrimination against those capable of doing the job
