Going Chapel en le Frith to Garswood, ticket splitting so going from Middlewood to Bryn.

Train arrives at 0929 at Manchester Picc, my connection is the 0946 to Wigan Wallgate from Manchester Victoria would a Middlewood to Bryn ticket be valid on the metrolink or will I have to walk?

Thanks

Tom

If you get a Route: Metrolink (GM) ticket then you will be able to use it on the tram though you may have difficulty getting a tram over to Victoria within such a short interchange time.

The non-public timetable shows that the Bury trams are due at roughly 0925 and 0937.

Middlewood to Bryn is £3.30 Off Peak Day Return, or £5.40 Anytime Day Return. These tickets are routed Metrolink (GM). There are more expensive Any Permitted tickets at £13.40 and £14.50!

You can find information like this in Avantix Traveller, if you do a Google search for Fares manual, the top result is for the Fares Manual site, which has a download of NFM06, which isn't quite the latest version (NFM07 is). There is evidence to suggest that the website in question may be in dispute with ATOC regarding the legality of making it available as a free download.

ATOC want people to phone NRES for this information, or pay an amount close to their standard admin fee (£10) +VAT+P&P for the software on a CD.

If you hold a ticket from one station in Greater Manchester to another within Greater Manchester that might require you to travel on the Metrolink system in the city centre (G-Mex/Deansgate, Piccadilly, Victoria), you may use the Metrolink without any extra charge. Tickets are normally marked 'rte Metrolink', but some are not.

Didn't bother with metrolink, avoided MCV altogether and changed in Hazel Grove, Salford Crescent and Wigan!

Cheers anyway :)

Using the GMPTE boundaries to split tickets like I did brings it down to almost half the cost! £5.00, £3.30 and £1.70 to split Chapel to Middlewood, Middlewood to Bryn, Bryn to Garswood. I think CEF to Bryn return is £15 for adult return!
