Mid-Hants Tornado?

Can anyone confirm if the above is correct? I read on the 'Net - on the Watercress Line site to be fair, so it should be accurate! - that Tornado is due there next weekend. Is anyone able to give some details about this, and maybe also if it is actually operating on the line or just present?

It'll be operating on various trains throughout the weekend - it's their Spring Steam Gala (I'll be going!)

So presumably, to get the most possible out of Tornado the idea is to change at Medstead & Four Marks? Or is this not possible? (It's been so long since I've been that I can't remember...)

Also, is there any way to know if they still have tickets available for any of these days? By the site's own admission (if not relating to the Gala) seven days may not be enough to guarantee tickets will arrive in time...

I think you will be able to buy tickets on the day.

To get the most out of Tornado (i.e. a round trip!) start from Alton, as engines are swapped there/

Hardly. It's to get the most mileage out of Tornado, and to prevent "seat-hogging". It's happened at every gala for the last couple of years.

Tornado will be on the West Somerset Railway for two (separate) weeks this summer Monday to Friday July 12th to 16th and Monday to Friday September 13th to 17th.

You can always (at least, every time I've ever been, which is almost every year!) buy tickets on the day.

I won't comment on that incident, but it wasn't intentional!

I gather that it has a problem with the main steam pipe, which could not be fixed with a week to go.

Shame wadebridge wont be running one of my favourite locos on the line, but will be good to on tornado again after i went onit on the 21st of december for the evening tour out of victoria when it was the only train that was running
