I was just looking for my daughter who wants to go from Hull to Manchester later this year and there don't appear to be any Hull to Manchester directs into September.

I can see them throughout July and into August on RTT.

Seem to stop 10th August and resume 7th September.

I thought perhaps truncated at Leeds due to TRU works but looking randomly at 3rd Spetember I can see a 15.03 to Liverpool, likewise 14.03 and 16.03.

I'm probably a bit late to the party on this one, I don't use the line that often, but is this a permanent timetable change or is it temporary? And what made them decide to add it?

I also noticed that stopping at Longcross is now a permanent fixture, again I'm probably late on this, I'm guessing that's been around for about a year now.

A permanent change for greater connectivity. While it adds two minutes to the overall journey time, it may also reduce the length of journey for sone users.

May 2026 timetable
Our new timetable starts on Sunday 17 May 2026, with minor changes to train times. The most notable changes are as follows:

London Waterloo-Reading services

Between Monday and Friday:

All services from London Waterloo to Reading will depart 2 minutes earlier and will call additionally at Vauxhall.

All services from Reading to London Waterloo will call at Vauxhall and arrive at London Waterloo 1-2 minutes later.

The 2050 and 2150 services from London Waterloo to Bracknell will both be extended to Reading, departing from London Waterloo at the earlier times of 2048 and 2148 respectively. Both services will call additionally at Vauxhall, Wokingham, Winnersh, Winnersh Triangle and Earley.

The 2250 service from London Waterloo to Bracknell will be extended to Wokingham. It will depart London Waterloo at 2248, calling additionally at Vauxhall.

On weekdays, the 2302 service from Bracknell to Staines will start from Reading at 2241 and will call additionally at Earley, Winnersh Triangle and Wokingham.

On Saturdays:

All services from London Waterloo to Reading will depart 2 minutes earlier and call additionally at Vauxhall.

All services from Reading to London Waterloo will call additionally at Vauxhall and arrive at London Waterloo 1-2 minutes later.

The 2302 service from Bracknell to London Waterloo will start from Reading at 2241 and will call additionally at Earley, Winnersh Triangle, Winnersh and Wokingham.

London Waterloo to Reading services started stopping all day at Vauxhall in the recent May 2026 timetable change and is planned to be permanent.
Longcross was added quite a few years, if I remember correctly it was December 2019 when services started calling half hourly throughout the day although I may be wrong with the exact timetable change.

According to RTT, ScotRail have run 6-car electric trains on the East Kilbride line today, made up of 2x 380s.

Is this the first time they have run 6-car electric trains on this route? Hopefully it features more in the new timetable going forward.

6 car today on EK services. First time I have been on a 6 car 380 on East Kilbride branch.
