LU off-peak tickets to NR destinations

If a London Underground ticket machine sells an off-peak ticket to a destination on the National Rail network, what off-peak rules apply? The fares usually don't match up exactly with those sold by NR retailers/listed on brfares, and there's no obvious restriction code printed on LU-issued tickets.

I would post a picture of one but I can't find one on the Internet right now, nor can I find the one I had that inspired this question.

An example would be useful.

In general terms, you would be charged the same Off-Peak fare, and would be subject to the same Off-Peak restriction code, as an equivalent ticket bought from a National Rail ticket office, TVM or app/online retailer.
