London Overground strike suspended

Workers have suspended their strike next week on London Overground, after the union received an improved pay offer.

RMT members working for Arriva Rail London on London Overground were due to take strike action on Monday and Tuesday.

An e-referendum on the new improved offer will begin next week.

RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: "London Overground members working for Arriva Rail London have made progress through their determination to take strike action.

"The dispute is not over but we have made sufficient progress to suspend the action next week in order for our members to assess the new offer fully in a referendum."

London Overground strike
A strike is planned on the London Overground on Monday 4 March and Tuesday 5 March.

If it goes ahead, some stations will be closed or running differently. Some services will not run early in the morning or in the evenings.

If you are using National Rail services from stations also served by London Overground, check before you travel, as some trains may not be able to run as expected.

Reduced services
If the planned strike on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 March goes ahead, no service is expected to run on these routes before 08:00 and after 18:00 both days. Services that do run will be busier than usual.

Highbury & Islington - Clapham Junction/West Croydon/Crystal Palace/New Cross
Station closures and staffing
These stations will be closed during the strike. London Overground services will not stop at them.

Additional stations may be closed at short notice. Some other stations will be open, but unstaffed.

Assisted travel

Seems like the RMT haven't gotten what they wanted from the negotiations with Arriva Rail London. I haven't been able to find a press release from the RMT that states the circumstances as this press release by TFL only states that strikes are going ahead.

UPDATE: All Strike action has been suspended following Arriva Rail London offering a pay rise to RMT members working at LO. Not surprised this happened as said strikes could have been catastrophic for London with passengers cramming onto NR and LU services as well as Buses.

RMT have won a pay rise for London Overground staff working for Arriva Rail London.

Workers overwhelmingly voted in favour of accepting the latest offer in an e-referendum.

It means the dispute is now settled and all planned strike action has been cancelled.

The details of the win for RMT members is as follows:

2023 - 6.5% uplift on all pay and allowances or a minimum payment of £2,000 for anyone with a salary of under £30,000
· 2024 - An uplift on all pay and allowances of February RPI 2024 or a minimum payment of £1,750 for anyone with a salary of under £32,000
· 2025 - An uplift on all pay and allowances of February RPI 2025 or a minimum payment for anyone earning less than £33,750, which will be negotiated in February 2025 as inflation forecasts become more accurate. All payments are backdated to the relevant pay anniversary.
