Another move from Neville Hill to Worksop scheduled for tomorrow, 5Q26 departing at 09.58.

I guess this should be for the last spare Mk4s?

Do we have the numbers of the Mark4 stock in the move 5Q26 0958 NH to Worksop?

If you mean NL to Worksop (not many Mark 4s at Newton Heath!), then reported elsewhere as:
12432
11426
12429
11417
11416

12214 and 82225 were used as coupling translators.

Just in time for my first InterCity 225 ride tomorrow. Oh well, I suppose I'll be riding on a 7-car set on the first day of 7-car-only operation instead :p

In a way it's a bit of a shame, but on the other hand, what really is the big deal whether it has 7 or 9 cars? The only "full-length" / InterCity 125 HST I rode on was a 7-car CrossCountry set.

The deal is that the new timetable doesn’t offer any increase in frequency on the West Riding services, so the shorter trains (both in the form of 5-car IEPs and 7-car IC225s) means services will be more crowded. This represents a downgrade for passengers.

What the new timetable essentially does is redistribute capacity away from the West Riding in favour of Newcastle, and especially Edinburgh.

I'm going by hearsay, so take it with a pinch of salt, but apparently it's been under repair for a couple of months (and was low on mileage anyway). Hopefully will return in the next few weeks.

Before the Wabtec overhaul facility at Doncaster was closed, all the remaining locos were given attention apart from 19&24. These two engines have been used less as a consequence.

For Tuesday 13 / 01/ 26 runnings , RTT reported 91105 / 06 / 10 / 30 rostered to the 225 diagrams, which service did 91119 work on the Tuesday?

For Thursday 15th, RTT reported 91119 rostered to the 3A10 ecs NL to Skipton and 1A10 Skipton to KX service, 1A10 was partially cancelled due to brake problems and RTT reported 91119 working 1A10 Leeds to KX, on arrival at KX, RTT ceased reporting 91119 and for the remainder of the day reported 91101 on 1D12 and the remainder of the 1A10 diagramset
Do we know if 91119 worked 1A10 Leeds to KX on Thursday , or did 91101 work the entire diagramset?

To add to this, 3A10 has broken down again at Shipley this morning (the triangle routes look fun). From what I can see (using RTT) it looks like 91101 is picking things up (shown on RTT as 1D12)

13/01; 91119 wasn't out on that day.

15/01; 3A10 (91119+set) got as far as Leeds, failed witn a DVT issue, and went back to Neville Hill.

1A10 was therefore cancelled, Skipton - Leeds

91101+set then came off NL instead, and started 1A10 at Leeds.

16/01; Similar scenario except a) 3A10 got as far as Shipley, and b) it's a loco rather than DVT issue this time, thunderbird to drag back to Neville Hill

Thanks for the details!

Looks like the thunderbird will attach to the front (in Shipley) and I assume pull it to Skipton where it can then reverse and change ends to return to Neville Hill

Thank you for posting the information for Thursday.
Today, and 91119 requiring a Thunderbird from Shipley to NL, RTT reports 1A10 diagram amended to be Leeds to KX, 1A10 has departed Leeds 25 minutes down, for 1D12, the return working of 1A10 from KX, RTT reports 91101 + set NL17.

I arrived at Shipley aiming for the 0717 to see it sat down on the opposite platform.

If it had been still a 9 coach, would it have fouled one or both of the Shipley East or West Junctions?

Some Skipton trains from Leeds were running through platform 4, then reversing at Shipley South and heading west through platform 5.

My previous entry was merged, so I was referring to 19 being out on Thursday. However, events did indeed conspire against it and 3a10 was caped. Good to see number 1 back though, it's also been absent for a while.

Posting #5 on this thread suggests its more for performance reasons and given that the class 90s are only 110mph max (although perhaps a little faster off the mark?) surely that would be a backwards step?
Could be wibble I heard but weren't 90s able to go faster however was limited due to the brakes and suspension (with a telling off from whoever they were subleased from?)

The 90's are quicker off the mark but then lose out at the top end and are 110mph max, in the early days of 90's covering for 91's on MKIV sets there were some issues which caused damage to the Traction Motors. The 90's could have be regeared for 125mph running along with some minor suspension changes and it was a proposal at West Coast privatisation I believe.

In the early days of 90s on the ECML they regularly reached 120mph! There was also plans, about 10 years ago, to have a small fleet of 90s & Mk3s for the York stoppers.

Back on topic, the 91s should start recieving G exams next month, as part of life extension work to cover until the 897s will be delivered.

Let's just hope they are getting the 91's and coaches in a condition to last through the introduction days which will almost certainly happen with 897!

After failing at Shipley and requiring assistance to clear the line last week, the platform end rumour is for today 91119 will have a mainline test run today coupled to another 91 as a backup.

Today RTT reports 0Z19 NL to Doncaster and return, believed to be a test run for 91119.
NL dep 1446, arr Don 1551.

Given the headcode of 0Z07 (for the return) I assume 91107 may well be the backup

Observed by a good numbers of enthusiasts at Doncaster this afternoon where 91119 and 91107 reversed for the return to NL.
91119 worked 0Z19 hauling 91107, on reversal, 91119 lowered and 91107 raised pantographs, for 91107 some rather worrying sparkling and arcing from the rain-soaked contact wire, 91107 then hauled 91119 to NL as the respective headcodes imply.
Let us hope 91119 is deemed a success and fit for passenger operation, it was noted the tread of the wheels of 91119 are quite shallow for diameter and may be close to requiring new wheelsets.
