Nottingham to Lincoln - various departure times, presumably governed by the number of stops and the booked passing time over the flat crossing.

......and, with the exception in general of the Sheffield Service, everything else based on Lincoln.

Or not enough passengers to justify a 2-train service?

There'd be plenty enough passengers if the timetable was more usable. Even with the change, it is quicker to go from Liverpool to Preston via Ormskirk than via Wigan.

Preston platform blocking wouldn't be an issue, although it would be a hike down to the bay at the bottom of platforms 3/4.

Exeter to Plymouth (westbound) is sort of half clock face, half not, as the hourly westbound XC services generally leave Exeter at 45 or 47 past the hour and the hourly westbound FGW's from London seem to vary between 10 and 35 past the hour depending on number of stops between Paddington and Exeter, with trains generally leaving Paddington at 06 past the hour, the only exceptions being the odd ones routed via Bristol and the few slow 'stoppers' via the B&H to Exeter.

In the opposite (eastbound) direction, it is pretty much clockface, with the XC's leaving Plymouth at 24 or 25 past the hour and the FGW London trains leaving between 55 and 00, however the last train of the day for the Capital (sleeper excluded) leaves Plymouth at 1942 (1739 from Penzance) but is routed via Bristol.

There is a gap in London departures from Plymouth of 2 hours and 5 minutes between 12:55 and 15:00. There is however a 1353 to Newton Abbot (from Penzance) which connects with a Paignton to London service. Also if you want to travel from Plymouth to Exeter after 1942 the service is quite poor with departures only at 2125 and 2351. In the other direction there is a gap of just over 1 hour and 20 minutes in departures from Exeter to Plymouth in the morning between 0814 and 0935.
