A simple question really.

If you looked from above, would the whole of the UK have snow over it at the moment?
Pedants - Go easy on me.

If so then when was the last time it happened? 2010?
And what about before that?

It might depend on how close you looked. In Preston there is a tiny amount of lying snow in shaded areas where the sun hasn't melted it. I saw a pic of the TPE 68 move passing Washwood Heath this afternoon and it looked like Birmingham had no snow at all, though that might have changed now.

Was quite a bit of snow yesterday though the wind has blown a lot of it into drifts meaning the pavements are often clear

Keep an eye on the Earthview site, I would imagine that Saturday is your best bet for a decent shot while there's a chance of sun and before everything starts to melt.

Are there any members living in the UK who have not had any snow where they live or work as of now or during the last few days ?

On BBC Wales Today it said Swansea has largely escaped any of the white stuff due to being protected in a Bay.

Most annoying thing to me no Newspapers available in Newport today - anyone else experienced this.

Also most of the shops I went in trying to find an I or any other publication had shelves reminiscent of Russia circa 1980 - ie empty shelves (particularly bread and milk)

If anything we've had significantly more snow here than usual. Normally in this little bit of the world we're lucky enough to escape the heaviest snowfalls, and what does land doesn't last long. I can't remember the last time I've seen continuous snowfall over a few days. Even back in 2010 the biggest issues were the sustained low temperatures and a very hard frost, rather than the amount of snow that fell. That was the year I broke a bone in my hand after slipping on ice.

Of course it has stopped snowing now, but the wind is picking up so what is there is now drifiting. I've just been out with the snow-shovel and had a painful reminder that I really ought to do more exercise!

Jammy scousers !!! - I moved down from Scotland to Wales last year and find the snow is far worse than anything I experienced in Falkirk.

On the isle we had snow, now even a little bit or even a few flurries is rare here let alone it settling. The main problem as with most places was not the snow itself but the ice that followed making not only the roads but the pavements like ice rinks, Friday moring was certainly a no drive or really walk zone.
Where the snow had drifted it was slightly easier to walk as your feet sunk and prevented you from slipping.

Managed to get use out of the sledge though, even on the short slopes of grove fields.

In North Dorset my dad had to dig himself out of his cul-de-sac but the main roads around the Shaftsbury area were passable today and he was able to make it to Portland for a visit.

Patricia and I were two months wed in June 1975 and had been to Buxton to The Park, to watch the first day of the three-day match between Derbyshire and Lancashire at Buxton where Lancashire had amassed 477-5 on a warm sultry day, with Clive Lloyd in majestic form (175 runs), so imagine what it felt like when the next day saw six inches of snow over the ground. I think that Dickie Bird was one of the two umpires.

This was my street last Thursday morning (March 1st). We had been utterly bombarded the day & night before; a goodly amount fell throughout the rest of that day. From Friday onwards, apart from the odd shower and extended flurry over the weekend, it's stopped and the thaw has well and truly set in. Thank the lord for it is all I can say...

Inevitable that Dickie would have been one of the umpires. You were lucky to see Clive score all those runs - the two or three times I saw him he got out quickly. David Lloyd, on the other hand, scored quite a few the only time I saw him.
