Laira shunter

Resident Laira shunter 08641 has been painted in what looks like plain FGW blue (same as the MTU'd power cars) with the usual yellow warnings etc. Noticed it yesterday in the yard, so presume it must have been done over the weekend as it looks fresh.

Only a few 15xs, 143's and HST's left to do now.

No, soz. It's just plain FGW blue, no branding etc., just the usual hazard warning as per usual 08/09.

Oh is 08641 completely blue now?? Appears this may be a rather unofficial repaint as appeared to be done a panel at a time, and has had blue patches for months. This is it in the beginning of November.

Yeh, that's it Nat. Albeit, looks like it's had a fresh coat of paint since last Nov, or it's had an extensive clean lol.

whats that knackered old 08 at Southampton?? its at the back of the sidings, very rusty with coupling rods off. I always gathered it was a spare parts source for Freightliner's fleet

About this time last week, I was coming up the M1 on the National Express after a couple of days in Portsmouth, and saw 08411 going southbound on the back of a lorry. This was between junctions 19 and 20. It looked a right state, in faded and worn BR Blue.

I give the depot guys their dues, it's kept very clean. Havn't seen it once yet caked in grim or dirt.
